The Brimstone and Burning Defined: Part Two

Our God is a Perfect, Loving and Fair Father

The atonement and its coverage is infinite and eternal, and covers everyone with certainty through spiritual underpinnings. Yet for one to take the highest kingdom and glory, namely the Celestial Kingdom, or highest Heaven, the gospel must be learned, accepted and lived, including faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism and becoming a member of Christ’s covenants and Church upon receiving the confirmation of The Gift of the Holy Ghost, and then truly living thereby. In this there is true joy and peace.

There is forgiveness in the life hereafter, for those who have as yet not been taught by the servants of the Lord about their Redeemer, and His gospel plan of happiness. For there is much preaching and teaching taking place in the spirit world, where those who have passed, are awaiting their resurrection. But for those who have had ample understanding and have been pricked in their hearts to know the truth, but have not lived it, and have knowingly rebelled, these are they whom are sent to outer darkness, where there shall be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth.

All of these, who have not partaken of repentance, will spend some time in this place of cleansing, known in The Book of Mormon as, Outer Darkness. This is where one will truly be purified, although not in an easy way. It will be through the fire and brimstone burning process, wherein their Spirits will be cleansed. Then they will be sent to the kingdom of glory most suited for them. This is according to how they lived their life, with what they had, understood and felt. They will also be judged according to the desires of their hearts, so Jesus’ atonement will always have good effect.

Once those who have suffered in Outer Darkness have been fully cleansed, they are free to leave and receive either the second or third resurrection, according to which ever Kingdom of Glory they will be restored unto. Either the second resurrection unto the Terrestrial Kingdom or the third resurrection unto the Telestial Kingdom.

All who enter into this place of Outer Darkness shall leave, except for the sons of Perdition, and Lucifer and his devils, or fallen angels. The sons of Perdition are those who knew the Lord in this life, and His love and grace completely, and then knowingly and purposely chose Lucifer over Jesus Christ (this will be very few in number), of which it is said, it were better for them to have not been born. They will remain until we are all called up unto the next eternal life of again, a first, second and third estate. Or, pre-earth, earth and post earth life.

The Atonement and Fall: Part Two

Providing Agency For Man

For a message about the atonement and the fall, the atonement is the rectification of the breaking of a universal law, in which the outcome is known in general terms as, “the fall.” This atonement is also the blessing of the entire human family throughout all the eternities. So much of how we allow the atonement’s reach to be for us in the eternities, depends on our faithfulness according to the light and knowledge we have and receive here. In other words, we are to do the very best we can, with what we have and are given.

This fall, which started in the garden of Eden, made possible the birth of sin into this world through disobedience, and introducing an unhealthy substance to the bodies of Adam and Eve, namely, the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

This poisoned fruit, coupled with their disobedience of the given commandment, introduced sin, and made their future sins to stick to and apply itself to their bodies, because in this state, they now understood the difference between good and evil, and could be fully accountable. Christ’s atonement would no longer be automatically applied to them because they ‘knew’ no sin in their previous innocent state. They would now have to actively supplicate and seek out the Lord and His forgiveness.

Having deliberately disobeyed the Father, and partaking of this unhealthy food, their bodies were then subject to death, and because they were fallen, they became able to have seed, or children. For even as every seed must die before it can bring forth life, so too their bodies needed to die to produce seed. It is because of the atonement that their lives were prolonged, in the which space they were granted a time to repent and learn from their mistakes. This change allowed them to fully and actively exercise the gift of agency, which is the ability to do good in this fallen world, choosing the right.

Before the fall, Jesus’ forthcoming atonement covered them in any wrong choices they may have made unknowingly, because they were innocent, not comprehending the difference between right and wrong. Their choice to partake of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was a transgression, because they had been specifically told by God not to do it, even though they didn’t fully understand why. Therefore, partaking is called a transgression, rather than a sin, because they didn’t understand the difference between good and evil.

Such was their predicament in being innocent, without wisdom or knowledge. Therefore, Eve needed to partake of the fruit, and Adam also, to learn for themselves, and progress from grace to grace, through the atonement of Jesus Christ. It was once they understood the opposites of right and wrong, that they could then learn from their mistakes, and repent of them.

As is stated in LDS doctrine, partaking of the fruit gave their bodies the ability to have children, through the effect the fall had on them. God, who is without sin, and who cannot create anything in sin, had to create them in this state of innocence, to then try them with the commandments to not partake of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, which would bring about sin, and a knowledge of sin for Adam and Eve, but also the ability to multiply and replenish the earth.

Even as the atonement was already part of God’s plan before sending us to this earth, so too was the fall. God knew they had to have children, and so He commanded them to do so, but He could not create Adam and Eve into a fallen state, with the opportunity to have children, so it was up to their choice to transgress, to be able to have children, and to then carry out His purposes for His children, which purpose is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

Truly this fall, which not only changed Adam and Eve by introducing death to their bodies, and the ability to have seed, or children, it also changed the earth into a corruptible state, bringing about entropy and decay.

Christ is the rectification of this fall, using it to further the growth and potential of mankind, through turning something hard and sorrowful, into something good and meaningful, even glorious, by learning from our mistakes and repenting. So is this life.

Indeed, the Tree of Life planted in the garden of Eden was God’s pinnacle creation in the garden, in terms of plant life, and man, the pinnacle of his creation, even after the image and likeness of Himself and His Son Jesus Christ. The tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was originally planted there by God as a fig tree, but through the evil influence of Satan and his devils, who were purposely cast down to earth, they wrought upon it, and it became unclean, thus unfit for Adam and Eve’s bodies to partake of.

There is always a little bit of bad to everything good, and a little bit of good to everything bad, so we know in the Garden of Eden, this had to be, for there is always opposition in all things. With a bit of bad to a greatness of good, or a lot of bad to a little of good, we know that all things must be a compound in one, for if not, it must needs be as dead or as naught. Our task is to choose the better part, or good.

Satan and his followers were cast down to earth by God, with the tree there, and helped start the process of earth life for God’s children, that they could suffer, have joy, learn, grow, have children, progress and die, all toward the purpose of becoming more like Him.

The Atonement takes something which would by itself be the destruction of mankind (the fall), and raises mankind’s course upward into the celestial realms, where attainment to godhood is made possible. For as a child can become like their parents, so too can we, as literal children of our Father in Heaven, become like Him.

As was God’s plan in the beginning, He wanted us to be like Him, and to do this, we had to pass through mortality as He once had, walk in the path wrought out by our Savior through His holy atonement, and come unto Him, repent and keep His commandments.

With such a glorious gift as this, is it any wonder that those who understand this atonement and live by it, truly rejoice in their love and relationship with our Savior? Our Savior lives! He is the course of true joy and happiness! He understands all of us and our needs and concerns, and cares perfectly. How? Through the atonement. Because He experienced it. He also carries us, and lessens the burdens we carry, only to the degree we can bear, that we too can experience growth from trial. This is essential. We need to go to Him, and not try doing things by ourselves, for this truly is, the great plan of happiness!

The Fruits of the Atonement: Part One

Everything Is A Miracle

This includes a short report of 10 Scriptural References of gospel principles, as they relate to the Atonement.

The First Reference under atonement, as taken from the Bible Dictionary, a general overview:

Note: I have altered and supplemented the definition of atonement, as found in The Bible Dictionary, to more fully and accurately define the aspects found therein.

The word atonement, describes the setting “at one,” of those who have been estranged, and denotes the reconciliation of man to God. Sin is the cause of the estrangement, and therefore the purpose of atonement is to correct or overcome the consequences of sin. From the time of Adam to the death of Jesus Christ, true believers were instructed to offer animal sacrifices to the Lord. These sacrifices were symbolic of the forthcoming death of Jesus Christ, and were done by faith in Him (Moses 5:5–8).

Jesus Christ, as the anointed One, and Only Begotten Son of God, and the only sinless person to live on this earth, was the only one capable of making an atonement for mankind. By His selection and foreordination in the Grand Council before the world was formed, His divine Sonship, His sinless life, the shedding of His blood in the garden of Gethsemane, His death on the cross and subsequent bodily resurrection from the grave, He made a perfect atonement for all mankind. All are covered as pertaining to the resurrection, for all shall rise from the dead with immortal bodies because of Jesus’ Atonement. “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Cor. 15:22)

All little children are innocent at birth, and will automatically be covered by the atonement, until developmentally accountable. For this reason little children need no baptism until age eight, or until deemed accountable by the Lord. The forgiveness of sins is conditional however, on repentance. Each person’s individual forgiveness touches them to the degree that they have faith in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, and obey the gospel.

The services of the Day of Atonement, foreshadowed the atoning work of Christ (Lev. 4; 23:26–32; Heb. 9). The scriptures point out that no law, ordinance or sacrifice would be satisfactory, if it were not for the Atonement of Jesus Christ (Heb. 10:1–9; 2 Ne. 9:5–24; Mosiah 13:27–32).

Sin is rebellion. (1 Jn. 3:4) It is a refusal on men’s part to submit to the laws of God (Rom. 8:7). By Adam’s transgression, man loses control over his own will, and becomes the slave of sin. (Rom. 7:14) So incurs the penalty of spiritual death, which is separation from God (Rom. 6:23). The Atonement of Jesus Christ, brings all mankind before the bar of God, to be answerable for their own manner of life. The means of atonement, is provided by the Father (John 3:16–17), and is offered in the life and person of His Son, Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 5:19).

Second Reference under Atonement: Grace, as it relates to the atonement.

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved.” (2 Nephi 10:24)

In other words, pray unto the Father for forgiveness, repent, and know that it is not your penitence alone, or even the good works you do through the enabling atonement and grace in the first place, but that even after all this, we fall short, and need Him and His grace. We can do no good thing without Him.

As a further note, consider that Adam and Eve would not exist after partaking of the forbidden fruit without the promised atonement in place, for even their spirits would die, as would their bodies, except for this atonement. This is why God’s statement is true and correct. “Ye shall surely die (as a result thereby). As scriptures state, we would die spiritually and temporally (temporally meaning physically), except for our Father providing a Savior.

This staying alive spiritually was also extended to the adversary as their only grace, given by the glory of God. It was the Lord’s pre-instated act of atonement, of both before and beyond, which made providence to even give us all life in the first place, and the opportunity to have this probationary state and test here on earth. Jesus is the Life of the world, and all God’s children. With the act of transgression, Adam and Eve could then have children, and we could then be given bodies, and live here on earth away from our Heavenly Parents.

Think of the signifigance of this, why else would the adversary be purposely sent here, but to be a part of God’s plan for our test? The second great secret then, is that even the adversary will at one point, come to himself, and make his long, arduous way back home, as the ultimate prodigal son.

This will take place after his complete burning and purging clean in outer darkness, where he will finally realize, after having given his all to win, and having lost, suffering all the consequences he has to face, will penitently acknowledge all his faults, and be given the long, hard road home.

This will be at the end of his Third Estate, Estate referring to a period of life, separated by other periods of life, for example: The First Estate referring to a pre-earth life, The Second Estate as our earth life, and The Third Estate as post-earth life. At the end of Lucifer’s third Estate, he and his followers will then begin again, having learned in their best way possible, not to rebel.

Because Satan and his followers forfeit their agency in the pre-earth life, meaning that they placed themselves in a position where they cannot, and will not do anything good, and can only choose how to carry out their evil purposes, they will have a fair judgement, in the which situation they will be given the ability to repent, and begin again, in their next eternal life, with another First, Second and Third Estate, having served their purposes of helping to exalt us.

We too being called up to our next eternal life, having already enjoyed exaltation and eternal life, holy glory, joy and peace, will then also begin again, with another First, Second and Third Estate. Already having experienced the full healing and forgiveness from and for Lucifer and his followers, they also being changed, and gruelingly repented of all of their innumerous sins on their long road home, we will then in our next eternal life, finally welcome him and them back into the Father’s house, and will all be at peace, with a prefect understanding of the plan of our Father, for He is a prefect God, and will not lose any of His children. All having fulfilled their missions in the exalting of all of us. Satan, through being opposition for us to repent, learn and grow, and Jesus, providing the only way back home for us all. For it’s not just that we repent to become like our Savior, but it is in the repentance process we experience, that we become like Him.

As another note, all of us are, in body and spirit, collectively and individually held together and organized in perfection, through the atonement, under the sublime honor of God, and all his creations, unto the utmost high, holy, infinite, majestic and glorified creation of our spirits and bodies, even the highest and most sacred stewardships of all. We are to foster the good, and “bleed” out the bad through Christ Jesus.

Even Lucifer and his devils are held together, and not disorganized as dark matter unto their non-existence, for the atonement covers all of God’s children, even unto the sparing the children of darkness, who followed Satan and the benighted kingdom of Sheol. For the Lord controls and subjects them all.

Another truth, evil cannot get worse, unless good gets better. Their bounds are set, they cannot cross.

Third Reference under Atonement: Mercy, as a fruit of the atonement.

Isaiah 54:7
For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

A poem I wrote which helps explain and substantiate this scripture.

Mercy

Mercy is the substance,
Which stops our downward fall,
And gives place for grace,
To then lift us to our potential.

It is the sure steady rock,
Which we can all rely upon.
It’s essence and founder,
Is Christ our Savior.

He gained this victory and power,
As He lived and sacrificed His life,
With charity as the oath and standard held,
And champion which prevailed.

Christ is the Word, possessing
Every perfect godly attribute,
Which were poured forth,
From the garden, cross, and tomb.

He bought our way to freedom,
Living and giving His life in perfect light,
Shewing us mercy in loving submission,
And giving all the power to rise.

Mercy and grace work side by side,
And hand in hand, for without them,
We could not comprehend,
Or be lifted out of the power of Satan.

Mercy is God’s gracious gift,
Our great loving rescuer.
Grace is shared by Christ,
His gifts of perfecting power.

Forth Reference under Atonement: Charity, the pure love of Jesus Christ.

2 Nephi 33:7
I have charity for my people, and great faith in Christ that I shall meet many souls spotless at his judgment seat. Nephi had developed great charity for all his people, and knew that he would be greeted with such a wonderful reunion on the other side when he passed.

Fifth Reference, under Atonement: Hope, as a gift of the Spirit from the atonement.

Listen to the powerful words of Joel, as he relates the word of the Lord unto his people.

Joel 3:16
The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

This refers to the Zion of the New Jerusalem, and also the Jerusalem of old in Judea. The New Jerusalem shall be in Jackson County Missouri in North America, where His power shall be manifest, and the nations fear, for the fear of the Lord shall be there. And from the Old Jerusalem, the Zion of old, shall come forth His word.

For the salvation of the Old Jerusalem, two prophets from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, primarily the prophet of the last days, and his first councilor in the first presidency, shall go forth there, and fight off the armies of gog and magog. This will take place until the prophet allows himself to be killed, and then his first councilor, thus becoming martyrs for their own testimony of our Lord.

These two governing bodies of Zion will be as one, even His law and power coming forth from the New Jerusalem, and His word from the Old Jerusalem, renewed, for we need them both.

Sixth Reference under atonement: Faith, as is a gift of the Spirit from the atonement.

Matthew 9:29
Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. And they were healed.

Seventh Reference under Atonement: Repentance, as a gift of the atonement.

Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;…

The refreshing spoken of for us is the second coming, when the presence of the Lord will be here, and refresh the earth, and all that be from the time since the beginning of the earth.

Eighth Reference under the Atonement: Perfection, a fruit of conversion through the atonement.

Moses 8:27
And thus Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord; for Noah was a just man, and perfect in his generation; and he walked with God, as did also his three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

To me being a perfect man or woman in this life, means nothing more than to know the Lord, to be like Him, being born again and converted, walking in the love and light of His soul, having the constant companionship of the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

Knowing to whom you belong, and living according to all that you know, to the very best of your ability. To be yoked with the savior, in that you and He pull the load together, and with Him by your side, He makes up for that which we lack.

Ninth Reference under the Atonement: Humility, as is a gift of the Spirit.

James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. Humility is a strength.

Tenth Reference under the Atonement: Patience, as a parent virtue of many other attributes of Christ.

Revelations 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Walking With The Savior

Finding Strength In The Master

For the Past Two Months I have been unemployed. As I have stretched myself through this learning and growing experience, I came across a video by Elder D. Todd Christofferson, an apostle of the Lord in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In this, I came to know that there is a reason for this particular time and season in my life.

It is not just a test of my trust and faith, to learn to rely more on the Lord, but my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, has set up this time, to have us experience this effect of Him drawing me in, closer, and healing me while I partake of His presence and being. In this I have grown, and I am now prepared for a new look at life with a new and becoming job. One that will be a place where I can minister to others, and be His influence for them.

As I fully experience my life with my Lord, He takes the world out of me, and gives me His eternal world and kingdom in return. I can take my place as His special son, and become His sacred steward for what He would have for me.

As I prepare in this manner, for the job He has for me, I will be the man He makes of me, even to be as He. I bear my testimony, that as I embrace and access the fullness of the atonement of our Savior, in my relationship with Him, I will become closer to becoming more like Him.

The Great Atonement, our Part: Part Two

Seek To Know The Savior & Understand His Atonement

The biggest half of accessing the atonement comes first, as we faithfully study the Lord, his commandments, and all things pertaining to faith, hope, trust, charity, purity and repentance. In essence, the gospel. As we do this, we are already using the atonement in this regard, to heal, and make changes in our lives, hearts and minds. Then will come part B.

First, let me explain to you that it is the Holy Ghost, which administers every bit of the atonement in our lives, to our souls and bodies. When you have the Holy Spirit with you, granted as a gift from God, which He disposes of in degrees at His discretion, depending on the heed which we give to Him, you can have His presence stronger.

You can also have the Holy Spirit even stronger, and as a constant companion, if you are baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, becoming a recipient of The Gift of the Holy Ghost. This bestowal is different than just having the Holy Ghost.

When you have The Gift of the Holy Ghost, this gift being a stronger presence of the Holy Ghost, giving you greater power to obey the Father in ways that would not be possible without this, to prompting you in some manner, whether in the form of testifying of Christ and His truths, or personally teaching you of a truth you need to know to heal, or reminding you of Christ and His loving ways and comfort, or even having the words of Christ come to you, helping you to avoid sin, you can have this form of heavenly aid always by your side. The key is to obtain this gift through the proper channels, and then to obey every prompting and personal commandment the Holy Spirit provides you to the best of your ability. Utilizing this revelatory aid from heaven, is a source of great strength and healing.

God will use the atonement and the Holy Ghost to help you have a higher path, brought about in your thoughts and feelings, through the enabling power of Christ’s atoning sacrifice, and thus He will assist you to have a higher, more elevated level of thinking and feeling, which will provide healing, and better outcomes in your life.

I will now explain the subject of this post in what follows, as it relates to the experience of accessing the atonement, in the case of addiction.

There are many factors in line with addiction recovery, and many people’s experiences with it are different. Each proves to be a special, unique and specific road, wherein the Lord walks down each path individually with the individual.

Each person has specific needs, circumstances and trials, which need to be addressed. One thing is for sure though, even as a person is supposed to enter into daily personal prayer, scripture study and regular Temple attendance, as a member of Christ’s church, having such unique blessings and opportunities, utilizing their knowledge of the gospel, they can access the atonement more and become better. Yet even so doing, one thing is still missing – Part B.

One needs to personally invite the Savior Jesus Christ into their personal lives to help them. He needs to be their guide, and allowed to be the maker of all the calls and decisions in their lives, through the Holy Ghost, in their trusting, faith fulfilling pathway of recovery. Let Him in to do the work of preparing the way, and follow His lead in what he needs from/and for you, with Him.

We need to be aware of Him, in, and as a part of our lives, cognizant of the relations and interactions we are having with Him. To become truly converted through living with and for Him. In this there is real life, the way God wants all His children to live, with He as our true constant King and guiding destiny.

The Great Atonement, our Part: Part One

I Know My Savior Lives!

Many people have often born strong witness of the power of the atonement in their lives, with adding somewhere in that declaration that, “I don’t know how it works, I only know that it does.”

Recently, I had an impression and inspirational understanding of how it does work. I will start off by saying that the Lord did experience everything with us, so this means He’s with you right now. He is with everyone and their thoughts, feelings, experiences and acts you are having and doing right now, every moment, in every way. He is even more aware of you and your surroundings and circumstances than you are, because He is perfect, and resurrected, making him free from the earthly veil we bear. He is nurturing the good, and subjugating the bad.

When in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus Christ experienced our life as Him going through it. In other words, as though He were us. Of course, when He went through it (our life), He expended and sent forth every good and righteous expression and spiritual acts of gifts and atonement into our lives unto the fullness.

This means that we can come unto Him, tap into what He experienced in our lives, and utilize what he gave us, turning it into what He would have us be, our rescue and resurrection, and anything and everything righteous, good, glorious and true, which He gives us. In our experiences, He takes from us all ill, and gives and adds to us His will. This is because He became as us in His atonement, making us as one with Him, as we choose to repent and live righteously.

Some would ask, “What does it mean to come unto Him?” Well, let me just say one thing, prayer and scripture study is one thing which will bring us closer to Him, and help us be where He is.

As I think of this, I am led to deeply desire to make every acting effort to make use of His powerful love and enabling atonement, which enlightens and resurrects life in us, through which He extends to each of us through His loving sacrifice, the power to change and be awesome.

As we think of our lives and the use of the atonement of our Savior in it, we need to remember this, that we have every power and gift extended and granted unto us, through His expression of great and loving sacrifice, both of mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, social, and in every other way, of being wrought out through His atonement, that we need to, and must take merit and use of all of it, for this is its purpose.

We must not waste such a painfully, high costing sacrifice on our behalf. Nor should we waste our days keeping this blessing to ourselves. We must share this gift with our neighbors, for truly even Christ, bled from every pore, to save us even as a moth to the fire, unto an exalted being by His side.

It is in this, that we can come to know our Savior, that He is with us. You can even say that as He went through His atoning sacrifice, He came to know us, and now that we are living our lives searching for Him and using His atonement, we are coming to know Him.

He has already come through our lives, with the remedies, cure and victories for our every need, both in time and in eternity. Some things will be overcome in the next life, but all things for sure, for the faithful followers of Christ, who passionately use His loving atoning sacrificing gifts, to thrive and endure. The atonement is not just for mortal bounds, but for our eternal progression as well.

What is the secret of/or to life? To learn how to, and readily and actively use the atonement in our lives to the fullest.

This is the only true success and measure of a man, in his personal, family and all other aspects of his life. To be a man as He, a godly man. So how do we learn to use the atonement? This will be explained more next in, The Great Atonement, Our Part: Part Two.

The atonement makes it possible for us to mentally seek a higher plain in us, to grow in spiritual maturity, and to change our natures, and the desires of our hearts and minds.

From lust to love, indecency to decency, degradation to nobility. It comes about by our using our God given agency, to yield ourselves, body and spirit, heart and mind, to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, putting off the natural man, or physical body, and use our agency to make good, correct choices. Bringing our souls more in line with the truth and love, guided by the Holy Spirit, thus becoming more righteous and pleasing unto God our Father, where He can also help us more.

It is truthfully the atonement that allows and gives us our agency, for without it, we could not choose good, for there would be no influence of good in us to act with. We would literally both spiritually and physically be dead. Our very existence as fallen man, is because of the atonement. Every time something nice is done, it is performed through the atonement, whether a person realizes, or acknowledges it or not.

Even the adversary, who at this point is not capable of doing anything good, is kept alive through the atonement. He has put himself in a position where he cannot, and will not do anything good. Thus, because of this arrangement, and him fulfilling his role in our progression, he too is given some mercies in the fact alone, that he is kept alive through the mercy and grace of Christ and His atonement, and will eventually be given a second chance in an eternal life in the way distant future.

Following the Spirit and making good choices over time and every time, changes our natures to become more sanctified and pure. This is what it means to actively use our Lord’s atonement. To use the power He has given us, by being with us every step of the way, He has provided the only way, Him. This is the great cause and call then to all, to be the living recipients of the Son of God, and His fruits of His own atoning sacrifice.

Look for more in Part Two
